Your Role as Senior Medical Officer The Senior Medical Officer (SMO) provides specialist paediatric palliative medical care for children and families at Hummingbird House. Working closely with PPCS, the Nurse Practitioner Lead, and the multidisciplinary team, the SMO delivers safe, timely medical assessment and treatment tailored to each child and family. The role supports coordinated transitions into and out of the hospice, assists with referral management including urgent and end‑of‑life cases and contributes to the on‑call roster to ensure continuous clinical coverage.
