We are currently seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team to provide specialised care for an older gentleman.

Position Overview
As a Disability Support Worker, you will work closely with a participant with ABI, helping them navigate daily living tasks, community involvement, social activities and managing behavior. You'll provide tailored support that respects the individual's unique needs and strengths, encouraging growth, independence, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred care focused on supporting an older gentleman with ABI in daily activities, personal care, and community access.
* Assist the participant in achieving their NDIS goals related to independence and social inclusion.
* Support the young person in managing their new environment and communication preferences post hospital discharge.
* Encourage participation in social, recreational, and educational activities.
* Promote and facilitate an active, healthy lifestyle.
* Support positive behavioural strategies and de-escalation techniques.
* Transport the participant safely to appointments and activities as needed.
* Follow Care Aid Australia's policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
* Arrive punctually and manage time effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Experience supporting individuals with various presentations of ABI.
* Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
* Experience with challenging behaviours and behaviour support techniques.
* Current Working with Children's Check.
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Unrestricted Driver's Licence with access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
Desirable:
* Certificate III in Disability or relevant qualifications.
* Previous experience in disability support services.
