The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the State-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.
The Opportunity This is a great opportunity to work in a role that helps shape how government agencies use and manage office accommodation across South Australia. As a Government Accommodation Officer, you will manage a portfolio of leased and owned commercial properties and support agencies to find practical, cost-effective accommodation solutions.
You will work closely with government clients, providing trusted property management and leasing advice while contributing to broader accommodation strategies that support whole-of-government objectives. This role offers variety, stakeholder engagement, and the chance to apply your commercial property knowledge in a meaningful public sector context.
About YouYou have experience in commercial property, such as property management or leasing, and enjoy working in a client-focused environment. You’re comfortable providing advice, managing relationships, and balancing commercial considerations with organisational needs.
You communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and in person, and enjoy working with a range of stakeholders. You’re organised, practical, and motivated to deliver quality outcomes, with a genuine interest in supporting a collaborative “one government” approach. A qualification in property, business, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
Educational Qualifications/ Licences
* Tertiary qualifications in Commercial Property, Business, and/or Law will be highly regarded.
* A current driver’s licence is essential.
Special Conditions
* A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
* Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
