About Us: Roper Gulf Regional Council delivers a wide range of municipal and community services within one of the most remote areas of the Northern Territory. The region spans 201,000 square kilometers, covering areas from Kakadu to the Gulf of Carpentaria, including five Wards: Never Never, Numbulwar - Numburindi, Nyirranggulung, South West Gulf, and Yugul Mangi.
About You: You should have at least a diploma or equivalent in media management or communications, a current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one, and be an Australian resident or hold a relevant visa. A recent Criminal History Check (within three months), a current Northern Territory 'C' Class Drivers Licence with manual capacity, and a Working with Children Clearance (OCHRE Card) or exemption are required.
Position Summary: This role involves promoting the council through managing media channels to keep constituents and stakeholders informed about council decisions and activities.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a Communications Strategy to promote council activities and decisions
2. Build relationships with media and stakeholders, prepare media releases, and maintain media networks
3. Manage council's online presence and internal communication methods
4. Participate in promotional events and manage social media activities
