Our client, a leading organisation in the telecommunications and infrastructure sector, is seeking a Field Operations Technician to join their team.
This full-time contract role offers the chance to work in a hands-on capacity, supporting the maintenance and optimisation of wireless networks and site infrastructure across the region. The position provides exposure to diverse telecom and non-telecom systems and plays a key role in ensuring reliable network operations.
Key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
* Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on telecommunications equipment including antennas, feeders, rectifiers, batteries, and emergency generators
* Supporting site infrastructure works such as temporary repairs to fencing, site access obstructions, and grounding systems
* Carrying out network optimisation activities and assisting planning engineers with field operations
* Managing diesel generators, including ordering fuel, recording operating hours, and connecting temporary units to sites when required
* Testing and repairing site alarms, AC systems, lighting, and other site support components
* Maintaining site folders, reporting on issues, and providing data to the Network Operations Centre
* Coordinating spare part logistics including shipping, receiving, and storage in line with process requirements
What we're looking for:
* Rigging qualifications with demonstrated experience in wireless/radio fault rectification
* Strong technical knowledge in DC and RF equipment fault-finding
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field-based environments
* Computer literacy and the ability to maintain accurate reporting and documentation
* Flexibility, adaptability, and reliability to respond to operational demands
* Previous experience in telecom maintenance or infrastructure support will be highly regarded
