An established and highly regarded independent school in Melbourne's south-east is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead its financial operations and support the ongoing growth and sustainability of the school.

The Role:
Reporting to the Business Manager and working closely with the Principal and Board, the Finance Manager is responsible for the effective management of the College's financial function.
Key responsibilities include:
Oversight of all financial operations including accounts payable and receivable, payroll and cash flow management
Preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and long-term financial plans
Delivery of timely and accurate monthly management reports to senior leadership and the Board
Preparation of statutory accounts and coordination of the annual external audit
Management of taxation obligations, compliance and regulatory reporting
Oversight of financial controls, risk management and insurance
Leadership, mentoring and development of the finance team
The role requires a balance of strategic thinking and operational involvement, ensuring both financial integrity and continuous improvement across systems and processes.
Candidate:
You are a qualified CA or CPA with demonstrated experience in a finance leadership role within a complex organisation. You bring strong technical capability, sound judgement and the confidence to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
You will also demonstrate:
A high level of integrity and attention to detail
Strong analytical and reporting capability
The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial leaders
A collaborative and steady leadership style
The capacity to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
Experience within the education or not-for-profit sector will be well regarded but is not essential.
