Executive Assistant to the CEO

Support the leaders who shape the community. Join the Office of the CEO, bring your expertise and organisational skills to a role with real influence.

* Cape York Peninsula

* Base Salary $90000 plus locality and additional allowances

* Relocation, subsidised accommodation, two return flights to Cairns

* 5 weeks annual leave plus additional 8 days isolation leave

The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant with proven experience supporting senior leadership at the highest level.

To provide seamless administrative, scheduling, and time-management support to the Chief Executive Officer while coordinating effectively with the Mayor and Councillors.

Known for discretion, strong judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, ensuring the Office of the CEO operates efficiently and professionally.

Responsibilities

* Manage and oversee specific projects in a politically sensitive environment as directed by the CEO. Communicate effectively with Council staff, Local Government, State and Federal agencies, and the public.

* Support planning and logistics for events and conferences.

* Deliver comprehensive administrative support, including meeting coordination, catering, agenda preparation, minute-taking, and report compilation.

* Manage and coordinate schedules for the CEO, Mayor, and Councillors.

* Handle customer enquiries directed to the CEO and ensure appropriate follow-up action.

About You

* Experience as a Personal Secretary, Senior Administrator or Executive Assistant.

* Knowledge of local government administration.

* Skilled in agenda preparation and minute-taking.

* Strong ability to summarise written and verbal information accurately and concisely.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for engaging with senior leaders, staff, and the public.

* Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
