What You'll Do
Be the data architect behind transformative analytics solutions:
• Architect data warehouse solutions using SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS
• Architect modern data lakehouses with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse
• Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines across diverse data sources and destinations using SSIS, Data Factory and PySpark
• Develop data transformation logic using SQL, Python, and PySpark
• Implement data quality frameworks including validation, cleansing, and monitoring
• Design dimensional models (star/snowflake schemas) and warehouse/lakehouse architectures
• Lead data migration projects with schema mapping and validation
Lead Data Platform Modernisation Projects: Take technical ownership of transformative data platform migrations including moving clients from traditional SQL Server warehouses to Azure Fabric data lakehouses or migration of data from legacy systems to modern enterprise systems.
What We're Looking For
Must have:
• 5+ years data engineering or data warehousing experience
• Strong SQL Server, SSIS package development, and SSRS expertise
• Microsoft Fabric or similar data lakehouse platform experience (i.e. Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake)
• Advanced SQL development skills (complex queries, stored procedures, optimisation)
• Python and PySpark proficiency for data transformation
• Data modeling experience for relational and dimensional models
• Experience with data migration for enterprise systems
• Azure data services knowledge (Data Factory, Synapse Analytics)
• ETL/ELT design patterns and best practices understanding
• Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/Data Science (or equivalent experience)
• Strong analytical thinking and client communication skills
Highly Valued:
• Data quality assessment and governance experience
• Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline knowledge for data solutions
• Government or large enterprise project experience
