With close to 4,000 births each year, our Birth Unit is a busy environment where your leadership will directly influence the confidence, competence and growth of our midwifery workforce. We proudly support NBAC and water births and consistently achieve excellent, benchmarked outcomes for birth and mode of delivery. As a CME, you will play a pivotal role in sustaining these outcomes by designing, delivering and evaluating education programs that promote best practice and elevate the standard of care.

Midwives joining our team are supported to work towards accreditation advanced skills in:

* Perineal suturing
* Speculum examination
* Balloon catheter insertion
* Ultrasounds

You will collaborate closely with a strong leadership and education team—including a Clinical Midwifery Consultant (CMC), Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) and Nursing Manager (NM)—to ensure education is aligned with service needs, strategic priorities and evolving models of care. Our Birth Unit also works in partnership with MGP teams, TEAM midwifery, and the Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Service (AMIHS), offering rich opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching and capability building. This is your chance to shape the next generation of midwives, strengthen clinical excellence and contribute to a high performing, woman centred maternity service.

Are You the Right Fit?

In This Role, You Will

* Apply adult learning principles and varied teaching approaches to build capability and confidence
* Plan, implement and evaluate education aligned to operational and strategic priorities
* Support reflective practice, professional accountability and continuous improvement

You model professional integrity and uphold midwifery standards, codes of ethics and NSW Health expectations—acting when practice is unsafe or unprofessional. Organised and adaptable, you balance competing priorities with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring systems, processes and education programs are robust, responsive and effective.
