Primary objective
Ensure delivery of high quality, culturally appropriate and effective Pharmacy services whilst providing clinical leadership and
supervision to Allied Health Professionals within NT Health.
Context statement
NT Health provides integrated allied health services in a variety of service settings including acute and sub-acute care, primary
health care, aged care and mental health. Currently seeking applicants in the following areas: Pharmacy. This position will require
the applicant to work within an extended hours service model, which may include weekends (as applicable).
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide timely, clinically and culturally appropriate Pharmacy services within a multidisciplinary framework.
2. Provide expert advice on program and clinical issues within Alice Springs Correctional Centre.
1. Provide leadership, supervision, mentorship and education to staff and students.
2. Independently organise and manage a high volume complex workload within a dynamic and evolving work environment to
ensure timelines and health outcomes are met.
5. Initiate, implement and complete research, continuous quality improvement and service development activities at a local or
regional level to ensure delivery of contemporary pharmacy services.
6. Lead and/or monitor the achievement of work unit goals and key performance indicators
1. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Relevant qualifications in Bachelor/Master of Pharmacy that meets membership eligibility requirements of the Pharmaceutical
Society of Australia (PSA) or Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) or similar professional body, and registration
for practice with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
1. Extensive post graduate experience in providing contemporary, high level clinical pharmacy services to patients and
families/carers.
1. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven experience in working effectively with patients
and families/carers of diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
1. Proven high level communication and interpersonal skills, including well developed negotiation and conflict management skills,
with significant experience working in a team environment to achieve positive health outcomes.
1. Extensive experience in clinical supervision of students and staff and a commitment to professional development.
2. Proven ability to initiate, implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities.
3. Proven ability to efficiently and effectively organise and manage a high volume complex workload.
4. Demonstrated high level leadership skills with capacity to provide leadership in a team environment.
Desirable
1. Post-graduate qualifications in clinical education, leadership / management, speciality practice area or other relevant field.
