About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Farm Site Manager to lead production and daily operations across our Innisfail region barramundi farms, located in Martyville and Mourilyan. This position works in partnership with a second Site Manager, and a site based Regional Manager in a coordinated structure, supporting 7-day operational coverage and strong leadership continuity across the site. The successful candidate will drive production outcomes, effectively optimize efficiency and manager risk, uphold environmental compliance, and foster a safe, high-performing, and collaborative team culture. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a blend of technical skill particularly with production optimization and fish health management, operational oversight, and people management capability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and coordinate daily farm operations to achieve production and survival targets.
2. Oversee water quality management, fish husbandry, and proactive health programs.
3. Oversee coordinated response strategies to effectively manage fish health risk.
4. Plan and manage harvest, grading, and pond maintenance schedules.
5. Supervise packing and dispatch operations in alignment with market requirements.
6. Motivate, train, and support farm staff to deliver consistent high performance.
7. Maintain accurate production records, stock reports, and farm data.
8. Coordinate with team members to ensure proper maintenance of all farm infrastructure and that equipment is safe and reliable.
9. Work collaboratively with other Managers to ensure smooth 7-day management and response coverage.
10. Uphold environmental stewardship, ensuring all activities comply with licence conditions, environmental regulations, and company sustainability standards.
11. Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in farm operations.
About You
You'll bring a strong background in aquaculture or intensive animal production, with demonstrated leadership in managing people, performance, and systems. Experience with barramundi or other warm water species is highly desirable but not essential. We value strong operational capability in planning and communication and the right leadership mindset.
