Job Overview
Position Summary: The Electrical Service Technician is responsible for providing onsite technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for cryogenic and industrial gas equipment and systems for customers within the assigned region. This role requires hands‐on experience, strong knowledge and experience in cryogenic systems, as well as excellent problem‐solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Cryogenic systems include Air Separation Units, Cryogenic vessels, Cryogenic pumps, Vaporisers and piping.

Responsibilities
* Technical support: Provide expert onsite technical guidance and support to customers on the installation, operation, and maintenance of cryogenic equipment and systems.
* Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose issues with cryogenic systems, utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques to ensure efficient problem resolution while minimizing downtime.
* Maintenance services: Perform routine and scheduled maintenance activities on cryogenic systems, including inspections, calibration, and replacement of components or parts as necessary.
* On‐site repairs: Respond to customer requests for on‐site repairs promptly and effectively, utilizing appropriate tools, equipment, and resources to ensure timely resolution of issues.
* Customer training: Conduct training sessions for customers on the safe and proper operation of cryogenic equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with OEM and industry standards and regulations.
* Documentation: Prepare timely field trouble reports, maintain accurate and comprehensive service records, including equipment history, repair reports, and customer interaction details, to facilitate effective communication and future reference.
* Safety compliance: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for both yourself and customers during service visits.
* Continuous improvement: Stay updated with the latest OEM technological advancements and industry trends related to cryogenic systems through ongoing training and self‐development, applying this knowledge to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
* Performing corrective maintenance tasks at customer sites as required.
State‐wide, interstate and occasional overseas travel.
Qualifications
* Electrical competency: Fault‐finding, installation, testing, and commissioning of industrial electrical systems including motors, VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
* Proficiency in installation, maintenance, and repair of MCCs, switchboards, control panels, and automation systems.
* Experience with calibration and troubleshooting of sensors, transmitters, and control circuits.
* Demonstrated knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and electrical safety standards, including lock‐out/tag‐out (LOTO) procedures.
* Mechanical competency: Pipe fitting, valve operation, instrumentation basics, industrial maintenance.
* Technical expertise: Ability to learn, understand and apply specialized knowledge of cryogenic systems, equipment, and processes.
* Problem‐solving skills: Capable of analysing complex technical issues and providing effective solutions in a timely manner.
* Safety focus: Strong commitment to safety by adhering to established protocols, procedures, and industry standards.
* Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective communication with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
* Adaptability: Able to work in diverse environments and adapt to dynamic and changing work conditions.

Experience
* 1–2 years' experience with cryogenic/oil & gas/industrial gas equipment. Pump/motor experience a plus.
* Field service experience highly desirable.
* Experience with onsite repairs, installations and overhauls preferred.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.
* Experience in planning and organising field service activities, including equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
Physical Demands
* Perform duties that require standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping or kneeling, talking and hearing, and using fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
* Use standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, printers, copiers, etc.
* Lift 50–100 pounds.
* Work in both office and shop environments at customer and company sites.
* Overtime and on‐call may be necessary as workload dictates, including weekdays, weekends, nights, holidays, and travel up to 80% to meet customer needs.
* Travel and extended stays at customer work sites.
* Conditions may vary at each location but are essentially the same as listed.
* A valid driver's license is required, and candidates may need to provide a clean driving abstract for travel between facility locations and client offices.
* Ability to perform effectively in high‐stress situations.
* Candidates cannot have issues with heights or confined spaces.
Safety
* Complete safety training requirements.
* Participate in other training as directed by the company or manager.
* Wear Nikkiso approved PPE as needed.
* Ensure all safety requirements and PPE requirements are enforced with others as appropriate.
