An exciting opportunity has become available for a Production Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing operation supporting the rail and infrastructure sector.This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on process improvement, working closely with operations and engineering teams to drive efficiency, quality, and safety through Lean principles and continuous improvement.
About the RoleWorking in conjunction with the engineering and production teams, you will evaluate opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and support the implementation of a structured Lean Excellence System. You’ll play a key role in shaping how the site operates—driving smarter, safer, and more efficient ways of working.
Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and evaluate opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costsDevelop and execute plans to enhance, replace, or introduce new equipment and processesSupport the implementation and ongoing management of a Lean-based Excellence SystemFacilitate, train, and coach team members in Lean tools and methodologiesPromote a strong culture of Quality, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), and Environmental complianceWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams to embed continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & ExperienceEngineering qualification from a recognised tertiary institutionMinimum 3 years’ experience in a production, manufacturing, or process engineering roleProven experience with Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologiesStrong team player with the ability to influence and engage stakeholdersProficiency in Microsoft 365, with experience in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks highly regardedMust have full Australian working rights
