The Opportunity
The Workshop Technician is responsible for performing a broad range of technical tasks, including advanced diagnostics, EV repairs, and case management. This role supports workshop efficiency, ensures high-quality servicing of Genesis vehicles, and provides mentorship to junior technicians. The Technician plays a fundamental role in enhancing customer experience and ensuring the delivery of Genesis' premium service standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with routine servicing and basic maintenance tasks on Genesis vehicles.
* Conduct detailed vehicle diagnostics, including electrical, mechanical, and software-based troubleshooting, providing recommendations for repairs or replacements.
* Perform repairs and maintenance on internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles (EV), including high-voltage systems.
* Assist with the coordination of Genesis-To-You (GTY) vehicle pick‐ups and drop‐offs for servicing.
* Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding vehicle status and minor service updates.
* Communicate technical issues effectively to team members, ensuring a clear understanding of required repairs and solutions.
* Assist with organising parts and tools inventory, ensuring required components and supplies are available and replenished as needed.
* Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for vehicle diagnostics and case handling.
* Prepare and submit service reports, ensuring accuracy in work orders.
About you
* Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
* Additional certifications in EV or hybrid vehicle repair (preferred).
* Valid driver's license.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in an automotive workshop environment.
* Strong background in vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.
* Experience working with EVs and hybrid systems is highly regarded.
