As a Cultural Heritage Officer on you'll help find clever solutions to interesting problems as you grow your skills every day. And you'll do it with down-to-earth people who you're proud to work with and get to know. Working closely with First Nations stakeholders, your role will include:

- Conducting and facilitating cultural heritage assessments, inspections and surveys as agreed under Cultural Heritage Management Plans and Agreements.
- Ongoing engagement and consultation with Traditional Owners, Technical Advisors and property holders
- Implementing agreed actions under cultural heritage agreements including site identification
- Working in close collaboration with Traditional Owners and construction personnel, you'll prepare for construction activities to ensure significant areas are actively protected
- You'll ensure continual improvement to our processes, training and project documentation.

**The community you will join**:
CopperString 2032 is the largest ever economic development project in North Queensland, and one of the largest expansions to the power grid in Australia.

The CopperString project will build 840 kilometres of transmission line from just south of Townsville in the Burdekin region to Mount Isa with the highest voltage levels in the state.

Reporting into the Cultural Heritage Team Leader, the position will implement agreed cultural heritage management measures to ensure that Powerlink's activities during the construction, maintenance and refurbishment programme adheres to processes under Cultural Heritage Management Plans and Agreements (CHMPs & CHMAs).

**Your expertise**:

- Degree or equivalent qualification or equivalent relevant experience in archaeology, anthropology, cultural heritage management or other relevant discipline

What you'll bring:

- Experience in collaborating with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Owners, their advisors and representatives
- Strong interpersonal, report writing and research skills,
- A clear interest in other people and cultures.
