Our client is a federal government organisation with offices throughout Australia. Due to growth, they are seeking APS6 Data and Reporting to join their team in Geelong. 12-month initial contract plus 12-month extension Hybrid with 3 days per week onsite - GEELONG ONLY Federal government role - Australian citizenship required Key duties and responsibilities In this role you will be part of a small team delivering analytical work including data advisory, data analysis, data management and reporting in support of complex economic and pricing policy and market monitoring. Duties may include: Identifying, designing, building and deploying scalable data, statistical and mathematical models Developing and executing data collection and presentation strategies Designing and delivery of regular and adhoc reports and insights to inform decision making and policy development, including data scope, analysis, quality assurance and visualisation for pricing policy reports Develop and maintain pricing and market performance dashboards Identification, exploration and formalisation of data insights including the engagement and procurement of third-party data sources for integration into data models and reports Identification and engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of work priorities and projects Participation in data forums and supporting ongoing data transformation process. To apply you will need the following skills and experience: Essential criteria Quantitative mindset with technical and analytical ability to handle and analyse data Ability to work with large data including manipulating and extracting data from data warehouses Ability to synthesise and coordinate complex information Proficiency with major statistical software packages such as R and Python, EXCEL, SAS/SQL Emerging communication skills that enable complex data and insights to be conveyed to non-technical audiences and within business contexts.
