The Role Belgravia Leisure is seeking an experienced Functions & Events Manager to oversee hospitality operations at East Fremantle Community Park, a dynamic precinct that brings together sport, leisure, and community celebration. Reporting to the Venue Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of all functions and events across the Cafe, Bar & Restaurant, Function Facilities, Health Club, Football Oval, Bowling Greens, and Croquet Greens. You’ll drive the venue’s event success through strong client engagement, operational leadership, and revenue growth strategies. About You You are a hands-on, customer-focused leader with a passion for creating exceptional events. You thrive in fast-paced environments, inspire your team by example, and enjoy building strong community and client relationships. You’re not afraid to innovate and are driven to deliver results. This position will suit someone who is quick to build relationships with local patrons and sporting clubs and be willing to try new things to drive revenue through the venue's hospitality business. Key Accountabilities Plan, coordinate, and execute functions and events with a focus on seamless delivery and client satisfaction Proactively source and secure new bookings to grow event revenue Serve as the main contact for clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and partners Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the venue and develop sales strategies Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability of the events unit Work with kitchen, bar, and operations teams to deliver exceptional service Oversee booking systems, update procedures, and support front-of-house as needed Recruit, train, and manage event staff to maintain high service standards Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations Monitor sales, client feedback, and KPIs to continuously improve events Essential Skills and Qualifications 5 years’ experience in functions and events management within hospitality Relevant qualifications in hospitality or event management Strong knowledge of F&B service, event logistics, and venue operations Experience managing event budgets, pricing, and profitability Proficiency with hospitality management systems Proven client engagement and relationship-building skills Strong leadership and organisational abilities to lead a diverse team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a high-volume setting WA Approved Manager Certification National Police Check About the Venue East Fremantle Community Park is a modern, integrated facility featuring: Café, full-service restaurant, and bar (Carnaby’s) Health club with gym, group fitness, indoor cycling, and reformer pilates Football oval (home of the East Fremantle Football Club) Bowling and croquet greens Skate park, basketball half-court, and dog park About the company Belgravia Leisure is part of the Belgravia Health & Leisure Group, Australia’s fastest-growing leisure organisation, managing over 250 venues across Australia and New Zealand.
