Join our team as a Senior Strategic Planner
Are you passionate about shaping sustainable and well‐planned communities through high‐level strategic and statutory land‐use planning? This role plays a key part in maintaining and improving the City Plan and delivering strategic planning initiatives across the Redlands Coast. You'll be joining a supportive team committed to thoughtful, collaborative and future‐focused planning. Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing complex statutory planning instruments, drafting planning codes, and contributing to a range of strategic land‐use policies and documents.
* Leading and supporting strategic planning officers and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver quality planning outcomes.
* Researching emerging planning issues, trends and risks to inform future planning policy and advocacy.
* Maintaining and improving the City Plan through amendments, policy reviews, and background studies.
* Responding to customer enquiries related to strategic and statutory planning matters.
* Building effective working relationships and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
* Managing strategic land use planning projects through effective project management, including scope definition, methodology, monitoring, budget control and reporting.
Skills and experience:
* Strong understanding of current and emerging strategic and statutory planning issues.
* Experience drafting statutory planning instruments and strategic planning documents.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
* High‐level research, analytical and problem‐solving skills.
* Experience managing strategic planning projects and associated budgets.
* Ability to prepare high‐quality reports, correspondence, policies and submissions.

* You'll hold a Class 'C' Drivers Licence.
* You'll have a Bachelor Degree in Regional and Town Planning or equivalent post graduate Town Planning Degree.
