About the Role
The Senior Commodity Price Risk Analyst/Trader is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information provided for the Sugar & Renewables Group and providing support to the Risk Manager Sugar & Renewables to meet the commercial objectives of the business.
A key component of the role is to manage the day-to-day relationships with pricing banks & energy trading counterparties. Diligent execution of all daily processes involved in the aggregation and allocation of Grower Managed Sugar pricing orders with Wilmar's Pricing Banks with a high degree of accuracy & autonomy is paramount. Reviewing overnight market price movements and bank fills along with an aptitude to challenge banks on pricing levels achieved, will also be required.
This is a Brisbane based, full-time office role.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage complete daily grower pricing order end-to‐end processes, including order book aggregation through to order allocation to Wilmar's Pricing Banks ahead of London/NY ICE market opening times.
* Ensure Wilmar's Commodity & FX pricing (MEI & GEI) is properly recorded and risk exposures accurately reported.
* Collaborate with the Wilmar International Sugar & Grower marketing teams to develop grower analytical tools for insights into pricing trends and behaviours along with the development of new pool/individual pricing and product initiatives.
* Provide Commercial support to the Risk Manager and the Group's Cogeneration business through regular reporting of pricing positions & risk exposures for the Group's Electricity & LGC hedging books.
* Supporting the Risk Manager & Cogeneration Team to develop and maintain the Groups PPA & Energy Tariff models used for analysis for Electricity Export and Import load profiles across its eight factory locations. Wilmar's Cogeneration business is Australia's largest producer of renewable energy from Biomass.
* Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial information and ensure set deadlines are met and assist with the development and implementation of forecasting and budgeting.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
* Bachelor Degree in Finance/Business/Commerce.
* Minimum 5 years recent practical financial and/or energy markets commercial experience in a risk analysis or trading support capacity.
* Working background in large/complex business environment, working across multiple disciplines/departments.
* Experience in Financial markets (Commodity, FX and/or Energy)
* Strong understanding of financial hedging products used in Commodity & FX markets
* Good communication & presentation skills
