PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: As Senior Communications Advisors (AO5), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the public image and community engagement strategy for a significant transport infrastructure project. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication plans, overseeing stakeholder engagement initiatives, and maintaining a positive relationship between the project and the public. Your expertise will guide the strategic direction of communications and ensure effective dissemination of information to various audiences. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide advice and support in the areas of communication strategy and risk assessment, stakeholder and community engagement, and media and issues management related to transport infrastructure projects. Develop and maintain ongoing key strategic relationships and networks with other government agencies, project partners, contractors, community and interest groups and internal and external clients. Plan, develop, implement and manage key communication activities and events as required. Ensure appropriate governance frameworks are maintained and adhered to to monitor compliance with policy, legislation, regulations, standards and procedures. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Experience in a strategic communication or community engagement role in an environment dealing with major infrastructure projects, particularly in the transport or civil engineering sector. Demonstrated capability in community engagement, executive correspondence, public relations and media. A degree in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing would be highly desirable. International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) in Engagement certification, or willingness to obtain certification independently, will also be considered favourably.
