Our client, a leading private hospital in Melbourne, is seeking an experienced AI Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-wide Artificial Intelligence capabilities.
This is a pivotal strategic role responsible for shaping and executing the hospital's AI roadmap across clinical, operational and corporate domains. The successful candidate will partner with executive leadership, clinicians and technology teams to implement secure, scalable and ethical AI solutions that enhance patient outcomes and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
AI Strategy & Enterprise Architecture
* Define and lead the hospital's AI strategy aligned to the broader digital transformation agenda.
* Design scalable AI/ML architectures that integrate seamlessly with core clinical and enterprise platforms.
Clinical & Operational Innovation
* Identify and prioritise high-value AI use cases across clinical decision support, patient flow optimisation, workforce planning, diagnostics and revenue cycle improvement.
* Work closely with clinicians and operational leaders to design safe, compliant and practical AI-enabled solutions.
* Ensure patient safety and quality of care remain central to all AI initiatives.
Risk, Compliance & Ethics
* Ensure compliance with relevant Australian legislation including:
* Implement AI risk management, model validation and explainability frameworks.
* Champion responsible and ethical AI practices.
Leadership & Delivery
* Act as a technical lead for cross-functional teams including data engineers, data scientists, clinicians and external vendors.
* Oversee vendor evaluation and AI solution procurement.
* Define measurable KPIs and deliver tangible ROI from AI investments.
* Act as the organisation's AI subject matter expert.
About You
Our client is seeking a strategic and hands‐on technology leader with:
* 8+ years' experience in enterprise architecture, AI/ML engineering or data architecture.
* Demonstrated success delivering AI solutions in healthcare or highly regulated environments.
* Strong understanding of hospital workflows and clinical systems.
* Experience operating at executive stakeholder level.
Technical expertise across:
* Cloud architecture (Azure, AWS or GCP)
* Data engineering, MLOps and model lifecycle management
* HL7 / FHIR integration standards
* Cybersecurity and privacy‐by‐design principles
