Role Overview
An experienced Payroll Officer is required to join a well-established Australian manufacturing organisation on a 4-month temporary assignment. This role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll processing within a complex, multi-state, blue-collar environment.
The successful candidate will bring strong manufacturing payroll experience and a solid understanding of award and EBA interpretation, including varied pay structures such as penalties, overtime, and allowances.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end payroll processing for a blue-collar workforce
* Processing payroll across multiple Australian states
* Interpretation and application of modern awards and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs)
* Management of complex pay structures including overtime, penalties, shift loadings, and allowances
* Maintaining accurate employee payroll records and changes
* Responding to and resolving payroll queries in a timely manner
* Processing superannuation, leave entitlements, and statutory obligations
* Supporting payroll reporting, reconciliations, and compliance requirements
* Ensuring payroll accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality at all times
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing
* Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong exposure to blue-collar payroll environments
* Experience processing payroll across multiple Australian states
* Confident understanding of awards, EBAs, and complex pay rules
* Experience managing varying pay rates, allowances, and penalty structures
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
