National Business Development Manager
Location: Melbourne, Brisbane, or Sydney, with a national remit.
About the Role
An established Australian gases company is seeking an experienced National Business Development Manager to lead growth across the country. This is a senior role with direct reports, responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening key customer relationships, and driving national sales strategy.
You will oversee a high-performing sales team, manage major accounts, and ensure the organisation remains a trusted partner across multiple industries. A strong understanding of industrial, specialty, and medical gases is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop a national business development team.
* Drive new business growth and expand existing customer relationships across multiple sectors.
* Build tailored solutions, proposals, and contracts to maximise profitability.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to inform strategy.
* Represent the company at national industry events and customer engagements.
* Collaborate across operations, product management, and customer service to deliver seamless solutions.
* Report on national sales performance, pipeline development, and market insights to senior leadership.
Skills & Experience
* Proven success in a senior business development or sales leadership role, ideally within industrial, specialty, or medical gases.
* Strong knowledge of all gas types and their applications.
* Experience managing and developing teams.
* Background in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, manufacturing, or related industries highly regarded.
* Tertiary qualifications in Science, Chemical Engineering, or Business preferred.
* Commercially astute, results-driven, and able to engage at executive level.
* Willingness to travel nationally.
