Key Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of all financial accounting aspects, including income statement and balance sheet accounts. This encompasses managing processes related to revenue, operating expenses (OPEX), fixed assets, prepayments, and inter-company transfers.
* Owning the finance-related aspects of claims payment processing, ensuring accurate and timely financial recording and reconciliation of all claims.
* Efficiently processing month-end journals and actively assisting with the timely and accurate month-end close procedures.
* Preparing robust and insightful financial reports for month-end reconciliation, including producing monthly cash flow statements, and for various internal stakeholders, including our GM of insurance, to support strategic decision-making.
* Preparing and submitting bordereau reports and other necessary financial reporting to our underwriters, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Certified accountant with 3 years post qualification experience.
* Experience with AASB / IFRS accounting and reporting.
* Background in the Australian Insurance industry (exposure to external markets is also desirable).
* Forensic attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills.
* Highly organised and self-motivated.
* Proactive attitude - ability to take ownership of responsibilities and the initiative to get things done.
