Job Description:
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme plays a vital role in addressing workforce shortages in Australia while supporting economic development in Pacific Island countries and Timor-Leste. As an approved employer, we are seeking a PALM Scheme Coordinator – Compliance and Governance to join the Group Talent Acquisition Team.
This role is responsible for leading governance and compliance functions across the PALM Scheme. The successful candidate will ensure that our company meets all obligations under the PALM Deed and Guidelines, with a strong focus on audit coordination, internal controls, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and maintaining a robust compliance framework aligned with PALM Deed and Guidelines, DEWR, and internal governance standards
* Leading internal audits and compliance reviews across sites
* Providing specialist advice on compliance risks and regulatory obligations
* Designing and delivering compliance training for internal stakeholders
* Collaborating with HR Managers and Welfare and Wellbeing Coordinators to ensure the consistent application of compliance standards
* Monitoring legislative and policy changes and updating internal processes
* Preparing and submitting accurate reports
* Acting as the primary contact for compliance-related matters for both internal and external stakeholders
* Managing the PALMIS system for data tracking and reporting
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Extensive experience and a comprehensive understanding of the PALM Scheme
* Demonstrated experience interpreting regulatory requirements and providing clear, practical advice to stakeholders
* In-depth knowledge of the PALM Deed and Guidelines and their associated compliance obligations
* Proficiency in compliance reporting and experience working with PALMIS
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* High integrity, autonomy, and attention to detail
* Ability to prioritise and multi-task
* Strong analytical skills, problem solving and business acumen
* Willingness to travel to regional and remote sites
* Knowledge of the meat processing industry would be advantageous
