We bring trust and resilience to key industries including finance, health, retail and manufacturing, as well as vital sectors such as aerospace, critical infrastructure, defence and space.Thales Millers Point, New South Wales, AustraliaAbout The RoleAs Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be asked to:Design, document and implement various cloud projects for existing and/or new customersProvide proactive support to ensure the customer's environment is running smoothly and assist in resolving issues by adhering to customer SLAsIdentify and troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure, applications, and services, ensuring timely resolution to minimize impact on business operationsDocument incidents, resolutions, and best practices to build a knowledge base and facilitate continuous improvementRaise required changes and prepare for change approval as per customer requestProactively maintain the customer environment from a monitoring, backup and patching perspectiveAssist with project implementation, updating as-built and design documentationMonitor the health and performance of cloud infrastructure and services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, security and PaaS servicesCollaborate with internal team and client to address technical issues and requirementsStay up to date on the latest Microsoft Azure features, updates, and best practices to serve as a subject matter expert to clients and internal teamsEngage and support other team members by learning new technologies and skillsThis role requires some on-call shifts on a distributed roster; you must be flexible in your availability.About YouAs an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer, you will ideally bring Azure (or AWS or GCP) certifications, as well as:Hands-on experience in managing and maintaining large cloud environmentsExperience in managing and troubleshooting Azure Virtual Machines, cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, and Azure StorageExperience in managing and troubleshooting App Services, Azure App Gateways, AKS, ACR and ACIExperience in managing and troubleshooting Azure Front Door, Traffic Manager, and Managed DB servicesExperience in managing and troubleshooting Azure firewall, Defender for Cloud, Advisor, and well-architected frameworkFluency in writing PowerShell scripts and KQL queriesKnowledge of IaC such as TerraformLinux skills desirableStrong commercial acumen to identify and develop leads, partnering with the Sales teamAbility to articulate desired state outcomes for clients and the ROI delivered through engagementsCollaborative, team-focused and outcome driven approach, with an ongoing emphasis on learning and continuous improvementExperience migrating on-premises workload to AzureNote: A Defence security clearance is required for this role.
