Operating from a large-scale facility in Kingsgrove, Sydney, Garlo’s Pies supplies its products nationwide through major supermarkets, food service providers, and its own bakery café. The business maintains a strong focus on traditional pastry-making methods while meeting large-volume commercial demand. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full-time Pastry Cook to join our team. Duties and responsibilities: Ensure all baking tools, ovens, and prep areas are spotless and safe each morning to maintain the family’s high standards of hygiene and safety. Clean and sanitise all baking equipment, ovens, and preparation areas daily to comply with food safety regulations and uphold Garlo’s Pies’ hygiene standards. Inspect and verify the quality and freshness of ingredients upon delivery to ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation. Prepare and bake a range of pastry products, including savoury pies, sausage rolls, and sweet baked goods, using traditional and commercial techniques. Mix, knead, and roll doughs by hand and with machinery, following standard recipes and methods developed by the founding pastry chef. Cook and assemble savoury and sweet fillings from scratch using fresh ingredients, ensuring flavour consistency and adherence to company recipes. Operate and monitor industrial ovens, adjusting temperature and timing as needed to ensure even baking and golden finishes on all products. Coordinate the full pastry production process—from dough preparation to baking and cooling—ensuring efficiency and product quality throughout all stages. Qualifications and Requirement: Relevant Qualification. Be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude Strong communication skill Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 - $80,000, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
