Key Role in Materials Management Systems
The Materials Controller will play a pivotal part in ensuring the integrity and reliability of materials data within our systems. This encompasses identifying requirements, managing supplier relationships, and delivering high-quality materials to support project success.
Main Responsibilities
* Create and manage Purchase Requisitions in SAP software
* Collaborate with project teams to ensure materials availability aligns with construction schedules and constructability requirements
* Plan and forecast material requirements for effective allocation and reporting to site teams
* Process receipt of materials into SAP in a timely manner
* Manage materials control functions for received, handled, and issued materials and equipment
* Inspect and verify materials, equipment, and documentation to ensure compliance with project technical and commercial requirements
* Issue materials and equipment to sites and returns to lay down yards to ensure accuracy of system and reporting information
* Act as the site point of contact to assist Material Manager, Procurement Manager, and Expediting Coordinator on ongoing project reporting
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
* Proficiency in contemporary material management systems, preferably SAP
* Large-scale construction project experience or suitable projects work, and supplier relationship management expertise
* Strong planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills to resolve moderate complexity issues and guide others
* In-depth knowledge of construction materials and services industry
* Familiarity with cost and stock control principles
* Excellent communication and professional attitude to deliver high standards
* Microsoft Office and SAP software proficiency
* Strong commitment to team-based environment
