Our Ideal Candidate
* Willing to work sleepover shifts
* Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
* Possess an NSW Driver’s License (P2/Full) and willingness to drive a Unisson vehicle
* Hold a current First Aid Certificate
* Demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative, and a positive attitude
* Exhibit emotional intelligence, resilience, and capacity to perform required work
* Experience working with people with disabilities or in similar roles is desirable
* Certificate III and/or IV in Disability and prior experience are desirable
About The Position
We seek a motivated, caring, and suitably skilled individual to support clients with intellectual disabilities living in two homes in Hornsby. Clients enjoy sensory activities, cooking, arts & crafts, family time, and community activities. They require support with complex behaviors and engaging in meaningful activities.
Responsibilities
* Support and encourage clients to participate in activities within the home and community
* Assist with personal care (toileting, showering, grooming, dressing) as per individual plans
* Apply manual handling techniques specified in clients’ plans
* Transport clients to appointments and activities using vehicles or public transport
* Interact respectfully with clients, family members, and stakeholders, respecting dignity, cultural background, and religious beliefs
* Contribute to developing, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing clients’ person-centered and behavior support plans
* Work cooperatively within a team and treat colleagues with respect
* Respond to incidents and injuries following Unisson’s policies and procedures and NDIS standards
