Wildlife Keeper Role – Guardian of Australian Icons
As a Wildlife Keeper at Wildlife Habitat, you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare and conservation of our diverse collection of Australian native animals while engaging with our valued guests.
Expert Animal Husbandry: Provide exceptional care for a variety of species, including Koalas, Lumholtz's Tree-Kangaroo, Southern Cassowary, Saltwater Crocodiles, countless bird species and more.
Nutritional Expertise & Enrichment: Apply your knowledge of diet and enrichment strategies to promote the physical and psychological well-being of our animals.
Engaging Public Presentations: Deliver captivating presentations featuring reptiles, birds, and mammals, educating and inspiring guests about Australia's unique fauna.
Effective Teamwork: Collaborate seamlessly with team members to maintain the highest standards of animal care and guest experiences.
Detailed Observation & Record Keeping: Utilize strong observation skills and maintain accurate records using Species360.
The Ideal Candidate
We're seeking an experienced Wildlife Keeper who shares our passion for animal welfare and education.
Skills & Experience:
Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 1-year paid experience in the animal industry, with preference for those experienced in koala handling.
Knowledge of animal conditioning and positive reinforcement (advantageous).
Reptile, mammal or bird experience and familiarity with local flora (beneficial but not required).
Computer skills for accurate record-keeping.

Animal Services Assistant – Entry-Level Career Start
This is a hands-on, entry-level position perfect for someone who loves working outdoors and is physically fit. You will support the essential, day-to-day operations of our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Habitat Maintenance: Clean enclosures, rake habitats, and ensure strict hygiene standards.
Food Preparation: Prepare and distribute food for a variety of animals as directed.
Safety & Organisation: Maintain tools and work areas in a safe and organised manner.
Observation: Monitor animal behaviour and report any concerns immediately to senior staff.
The Ideal Candidate:
Physical Fitness: Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physical, hands-on tasks.
Attitude: A proactive team player with a strong work ethic and a positive approach.
Passion: A genuine interest in wildlife and conservation.

Essential Requirements
For this role, you must be willing to undergo a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Screening. Successful candidates for the Wildlife Keeper position will also be required to obtain a Working with Children: Blue Card.
Availability:
Flexible to work a 7-day roster, including weekends, public holidays, and school holidays.
Ability to comply with our Drug and Alcohol Policy.
Permanent residency in Australia.
