Shape the Future of Midwifery Governance & Strategy
Metro South Health is seeking a senior midwifery leader to provide strategic, professional, and operational leadership across the Nursing and Midwifery division. Permanent full-time Nurse Grade 11 position based at Garden City Office Park, Eight Mile Plains.
Your New Role
As the Midwifery Director, you will provide expert strategic leadership and operational oversight to strengthen midwifery governance, capability, and professional practice across Metro South Health. Working closely with the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery, you will drive strategic priorities, workforce initiatives, and service excellence to achieve safe, high-quality care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Providing contemporary professional and clinical midwifery leadership across
* Leading system-wide initiatives in education, workforce planning, research, and service improvement
* Offering expert advice on midwifery practice, policy, and emerging health priorities
* Building strong partnerships with executive leaders, interdisciplinary stakeholders, and professional bodies
* Driving innovation, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement in service delivery
About you:
We are seeking a transformational leader with deep expertise in midwifery governance and contemporary models of care. You will bring vision, credibility, and the ability to influence at an executive level.
To Succeed In This Role, You Will Demonstrate
* Current registration with NMBA as a Midwife and tertiary midwifery qualifications
* Advanced knowledge of midwifery practice, standards, and governance frameworks
* Proven leadership experience in strategy development, workforce planning, and operational delivery
