The Public Health Nurse - School Immunisation will be responsible for provision and administration of vaccines within vaccination clinics in High Schools located in areas covered by Sydney Local Health District, as part of the NSW Health Adolescent School Vaccination Program and according to protocols developed by Health Protection NSW for the Adolescent School Vaccination Program and other related activities.
The immunisation nurses will also be responsible for administration of other vaccinations such as influenza on an annual basis or as required by Sydney Local Health District.
We require nurses who have current nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation (AHPRA) and recent experience working as a Registered Nurse in a hospital, community and/or public health setting. Candidates should also have knowledge and ability to provide immunisation within the NSW Adolescent School Based Immunisation Program and relevant protocols and immunisation schedules. Additionally, they must have demonstrated experience and certification as an authorised nurse immuniser and a current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 Licence acceptable).
