**About the role**
Reporting to Project Coordinator, Tobacco Cessation, the position of Communications Officer Volunteer will support the delivery of the Cessation Communications Plan, with a focus on the Tackling Tobacco newsletter.
The role is one day per week in the Wollongong Cancer Council NSW office.
**Key tasks of the position**
* Meet Tackling Tobacco newsletter monthly deadlines associated with drafting content and scheduling the publication of newsletters.
* Work with Volunteer Managers to interpret and create innovative tobacco-related health promotion content and/or resources.
* Ensure that all communications are aligned with CCNSW branding and relevant policies.
* Working with volunteers and staff members, develop content that is clear and concise.
* Maintain a high level of written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail with all content.
* Participate in and contribute to team meetings.
* Other tasks as required by the Tobacco Cessation Stream
**About you**
* Interest and knowledge in health promotion, social justice, tobacco control, and the not-for-profit sector.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
* Experience in translating complex health information into content that is clear and easily understood by the general public.
* Experience in using Canva for development of visual content that is engaging and innovative.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to work positively and respectfully with others.
* High level computer literacy in Microsoft Office and using online platforms such as Campaign Monitor.
* Willingness to participate in training and use CCNSW systems relevant for your position.
* Ability to work efficiently and effectively individually and as a part of a team.
* Strong time management skills and high-level attention to detail.
