**Job Opportunity for Community Midwife**
Our healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Community Midwife to provide quality health services to Aboriginal people in far western New South Wales. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive team providing patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and assist with midwifery treatments and care activities using a patient-centered approach in a general practice clinic.
* Provide safe and effective community midwifery services and ensure continuity of care for mothers and children through pregnancy, infancy, and ongoing into childhood.
* Mentor and support Aboriginal Health Practitioners and trainees with ante natal and post-natal care, encouraging their active participation at all times.
* Perform clinical midwifery duties identified as being required in the preparation, execution, and monitoring of maternity care plans according to best available evidence.
The ideal candidate will have:
Requirements
* Current unconditional registration with AHPRA as a registered Midwife.
* Minimum 3 years midwifery experience, preferably in a community role.
* Authorisation as an immunisation provider in New South Wales or ability to obtain within 3 months of commencing employment.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of primary health care and how they relate to maternal and infant health in relation to Aboriginal children, women, and families.
