Forestry Field Technician Job Overview
As a Forestry Field Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with various forestry activities and ensuring the safety of yourself and others. This role involves implementing forestry projects, conducting field surveys to assess forest health, collecting samples of plant tissues, and maintaining accurate records of work completed.
The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills, strong physical stamina, and good communication skills. A high school completion or equivalent qualification is required, along with a current Class C driver's license. Additional certifications related to forestry or agriculture are an advantage.
Demonstrated wildfire firefighting competency and/or previous experience in forest fire management is desirable but not compulsory.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the implementation of forestry projects.
* Conduct field surveys to assess forest health, tree growth rates, and potential pest or disease outbreaks.
* Collect samples of plant tissues for laboratory analysis.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and provide regular progress reports to supervisors.
* Collaborate with other team members on various tasks as required.
Requirements:
