Leidos Airborne Solutions Australia provides aerial surveillance services under contract to the Australian Border Force as the largest civil maritime surveillance operation of its kind in the world, and a search-and rescue capability across nearly 10 percent of the earth's surface under Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
**Job Description**:
This position manages all day-to-day delivery and business performance aspects of the Airborne Solutions operation, with a focus on ensuring performance and contractual requirements are met and Bases operate efficiently and effectively.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Plan and deliver the monthly flying program; build crew rosters, manage disruptions to the flying program and minimise roster changes.
- Ensure the bases are operating safely and effectively to deliver the mission.
- Maintain and enhance the relationships with each customer, understanding the key aspects of the contracts and performance metrics..
- Coordinate and resolve challenges with key operational functions such as Flight Ops, Engineering, Observers.
- Demonstrate visible leadership of a Just Safety Culture and ensure the AOC is served by a strong Safety Management System (SMS), encompassing all SMS elements. with a predictive and proactive focus.
- Provide oversight and direction to ensure Airborne Solutions deliver performance that meets or exceeds customer expectations and contractual requirements by exercising best practice operational management and maintaining a deep understanding of customer decision making and priorities.
- Foster open and trusted relationships with our customers, clients, suppliers and staff.
- Provide leadership and direction for the continuous improvement function for Airborne Solutions to deliver efficiency and productivity gains.
- Partner with operational and functional business units to develop and embed frameworks that align wit the strategic objectives of the business.
**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications and Clearances**
- Tertiary qualifications within a Business Management discipline.
- Australian Citizen.
- Holds or is eligible to hold an AGSVA at Baseline level and pass an ABF Employment Suitability Check.
**Experience**
- Extensive management experience in the aviation industry, particularly in the areas of:
- Operations Management
- Safety Management Systems
**Knowledge**
- A sound knowledge of the aviation industry across the areas within this portfolio.
