The Opportunity
Based in Roma, this field‐based role is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault support of microwave, TETRA and 4G/5G radio networks. You will work across regional and remote sites ensuring systems are installed to design specifications, accurately aligned, fully commissioned and operating at peak performance.
This position combines tower work, technical commissioning, rigging, fault finding and client support. Ideal for a technician who thrives on variety, problem‐solving and working outdoors.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, align and maintain microwave dishes, antennas and associated radio equipment
* Install and terminate coaxial and fibre cabling to industry standards
* Safely climb and work on towers, masts and rooftops
* Perform rigging operations including lifting and lowering of equipment
* Commission voice and data networks in line with project scope and drawings
* Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults
* Complete site audits, redline markups and as‐built documentation
* Maintain accurate reporting and ensure strict WHS compliance
About You
* Intermediate Rigging (RI) Licence
* Current Working at Heights and rescue certification
* Open Cabling Registration (structured, fibre and coax endorsed)
* Proven experience in telecommunications tower work and radio systems
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical capability
* Confident communicator who works effectively within project teams
* Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
* Based in Roma and willing to travel intrastate and interstate as required
Desirable
* Open (A Grade / Unrestricted) Electrical Licence permitting unsupervised electrical installation work.
