PositionDescription: Provides strategic leadership and directionfor the SMHS Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Practitioner service,including direct patient care, education, stakeholder engagementand expert advice.
The position holder works closely with the SMHSEnd of Life Choices and Voluntary Assisted Dying Clinical NurseConsultant and the Director Clinical Services to guide the ongoingdevelopment of a safe culture and sustainable VAD program acrossthe organisation.
Promotes patient safety and quality of care.Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision andeducation, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health ServiceMedical Practitioners and other health workers.
In collaborationwith the Director Clinical Services and other Consultants works toachieve national, state and SMHS performance standards and targets.Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined andrecommended by the SMHS Area Medical CredentialingCommittee.
