Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services(www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a TBM Mechanical Supervisor to join our team for a Heavy Civil Construction Project in Melbourne .
-Location: Melbourne, Victoria (100% On-site).
-Estimated Duration: 24 months. In general, when the project ends, we try to relocate the employee to other projects to ensure continuity.
-Summary: collaboration in all necessary activities for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, decommissioning, and disassembly of the plant and equipment required for the works on site. Follow the instructions of the TBM Mechanical Superintendent during the assembly, commissioning, start‐up, production, and maintenance phases of all underground machinery required to construct the twin tunnels for this package, primarily the Tunnel Boring Machines.
-Responsibilities:
* Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, decommissioning and dismantling of all plant and equipment required on site, following project requirements and instructions from the TBM Mechanical Superintendent.
* Work with all major tunnel‐plant systems, including EPB TBM, spoil conveyor, MSV, ventilation, backfill grout plant, water treatment plant, power and water supply, material handling systems, and cross‐passage excavation equipment.
* Carry out daily maintenance activities, primarily on the TBM, ensuring equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
* Coordinate with the TBM Mechanical Superintendent and mechanical engineers to manage spare parts, servicing needs and maintenance priorities.
* Anticipate material, tools and machinery requirements for daily operations and ensure timely availability.
* Perform inspections and maintenance tasks safely and efficiently, providing accurate updates to mechanical engineers.
* Collaborate with Safety, Quality and Environmental teams to ensure compliance with all project and industry standards.
* Maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
* Aim for zero machinery breakdowns and minimise maintenance stoppages.
* Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment.
* Execute all duties in accordance with project policies, systems and procedures.
* Demonstrate strong attention to detail and adherence to the Code of Conduct.
* Support team development, engagement and continuous improvement.

-Requirements:
* A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical TBM Supervisor in tunnels/ underground/heavy civil construction projects or similar. Leading EPB TBM maintenance crews on large‐scale infrastructure projects.
* Tunnel construction experience in Australia (Melbourne preferred)
* Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
* Relevant safety, construction and industry certifications/tickets.
* Experience working within a team and supervising small crews.
* Coordination and oversight of small subcontractor activities.
* Ability to understand method statements and contribute to SWMS development.
* Ability to work at a desk for extended periods and walk/stand on uneven ground.
* Ability to sit, squat and lift/carry reasonable loads for short distances.
* Occasional attendance at industry or training events.
-Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 2 weeks day shift (would include a half day Saturday), 2 weeks night shift. Day 7am - 5pm, Sat morning till 1pm- Night 5pm - 3am
