Job Description

Mercure Newcastle is seeking a Full-Time Breakfast Chef to join our small kitchen team.
As our Breakfast Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of breakfast dishes, from traditional hot breakfasts to healthier and continental options. You will manage the breakfast section efficiently, ensuring food is prepared on time, cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing, cooking, and serving breakfast buffet dishes with variety and flair
* Ensuring strict stock rotation and minimizing wastage following stock control procedures
* Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in all working areas; washing dishes during service
* Assisting with in-house functions, restaurant, and café food as needed
* Maintaining, servicing, and cleaning all equipment; reporting issues to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager
Qualifications
Your skills and experience include:
* Experience in buffet breakfast service preferred
* Consistent delivery of high-quality food while maintaining set food costs
* Collaborating with service teams to ensure quality products and service
* Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
* Strong planning and organizational skills
* Willingness to learn and go above and beyond for guests
