Primary objective
Assist managers in the Digital Strategy and Advisory with delivery and reporting of projects or initiatives such as stakeholder
engagement, procurement of services, research, drafting and development of strategy and policy documents.
Context statement
The Digital Strategy and Advisory team develops and leads strategic activities relevant to digital services within government. The
small team operates in a project-based structure where staff may be allocated to multiple projects based on their skills and
expertise. This structure allows staff to work with different team members and work on a variety of projects from policy
development, research and drafting advice, requesting action plan reports from clients to procurement of service providers and
services.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide evidence-based analysis and commentary across a range of digital issues to inform the development of digital policies,
strategies, client advice, draft procedures and guidelines that impact on the NT and NT Government agencies.
2. Coordinating and managing administrative activities to support a range of projects including internal committee secretariat,
procurement, and regular client communications.
3. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and clients, including to requesting action plan updates,
seeking information, and testing proposed solutions applicable to the all-of-government digital and data context.
1. Liaise with Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS) agencies on a wide range of policy and digital strategy topics relevant to
the Office of Digital Government.
5. Provide a customer-centric and professional service in delivery of administrative, research and advice activities.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, innovative and
respectful.
2. Demonstrated abilities and experience in managing administrative duties including committee secretariat, procurement, record
keeping and providing professional client communications via phone and email.
3. Experience in undertaking research, analysis and drafting of advice, demonstrating the ability to research and analyse
contemporary digital and data topics.
4. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5. Experience supporting and coordinating projects, demonstrating strong administrative and reporting skills. Emerging or recent
experience overseeing and directly managing projects.
1. High level communication skills and experience in preparing reports and correspondence for a wide range of audiences and in
presenting information in plain English.
1. Demonstrated personal drive and ability to work with multiple teams, dealing with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
Desirable
1. Formal qualification in (or working towards) Business Administration, Project Management or equivalent experience.
2. Experience in delivering Digital and/or data solutions or experience working in technical roles in the ICT industry.
