This role involves close collaboration with families, carers, and partners to support young people as they transition from acute mental health care to community living. As a Family Engagement Worker, you will be part of our Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service in Townsville.
* You will provide direct support to young people, promoting independence and recovery.
* You will develop and implement family engagement strategies, including education, advocacy, and connections to external services.
* You will mentor and guide Community Mental Health Practitioners in family-inclusive, recovery-oriented practice.
* You will design and deliver group programs to enhance young people's skills, confidence, and community connections.
* You will build partnerships with local service providers to connect young people with mental health, physical health, education, employment, housing, and social connections.
The Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service supports young people aged 16–21 transitioning from hospital to community living or preventing further hospital admissions. You will work in a safe, homelike environment with 24/7 staff access.
