Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide high‑quality management accounting and partnering support across a diverse non‑research portfolio. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing trusted financial advice, insights, and guidance to enable informed decision‑making.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Budgeting and forecast planning
* Financial modelling and analysis
* Month‑end reporting and variance analysis
* Preparation of non‑research financial statements
* Development and establishment of non‑research grants
* Salary and FTE reconciliations
* Management reporting and performance insights
* Project master data governance
* Co‑location partner engagement
* Assisting with end‑of-year notes and reporting requirements
This is a partnering‑focused role where you will build strong relationships across operational and academic units, acting as a trusted advisor.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will have:
* Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
* CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
* Proven experience in management accounting within a large, complex organisation
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* High attention to detail and strong Excel/financial modelling capability
* Experience working in environments with multiple funding streams or cost centres (highly desirable)
