The City of Launceston is seeking a motivated and detail‐oriented Property and Leasing Officer to join our Property and Asset Strategy team. This role provides professional and administrative support in managing Council's property portfolio, including leases, licences, acquisitions and disposals, while ensuring compliance with legislative and policy requirements.
Working closely with the Senior Property Officer and Team Leader Property, you will contribute to efficient property transactions, accurate record‐keeping and excellent customer service across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
* Preparing, reviewing and coordinating leases, licences and related agreements
* Supporting negotiations, renewals and rent reviews
* Maintaining accurate lease records and producing reports for renewals
* Processing invoices, rent payments and lease income
* Coordinating and undertaking property inspections, documenting issues and ensuring follow‐up actions
* Liaising with internal teams, lessees, community groups and service providers
* Assisting with acquisitions, disposals and valuations and preparing supporting research
* Ensuring activities meet governance, policy and reporting obligations
About You
You demonstrate our organisational values and bring strong communication, organisation and stakeholder engagement skills. You maintain excellent attention to detail and provide professional, accurate and timely support across property and leasing functions.
We are looking for someone with:
* Knowledge of lease management, property legislation and portfolio administration
* Strong accuracy in document preparation and data management
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to plan, organise and manage multiple priorities
* Certificate‐level qualification in property management, contract management, business administration or equivalent experience
* Experience in property, lease or contract administration (government or complex environment preferred)
* Experience using property management databases and corporate systems
* Ability to manage stakeholders and competing priorities
