Scope of The Position
Geomotion are looking to expand our team of committed installation technicians. Site Technicians are responsible for ensuring our instruments are prepared, installed, and commissioned to the best level of quality required for a successful monitoring scheme.
The position of Site Technician will be based in Victorian office in Yarraville. Duties will be based both in the office and on site. Site work will take place in Melbourne, with potential for occasional regional and interstate travel.
Site work will involve installing structural, ground, and environmental monitoring systems in accordance with construction drawings and design specifications. Installation, programming and commissioning data loggers and telemetry devices; maintaining installation records and promoting a safe workplace with zero harm.
Office based work will involve testing, assembling, preparing and packing instruments ready for projects; preparing project documentation and maintaining records; assisting with general maintenance and upkeep of equipment, plant and the facilities.
This is an entry level role that would suit a technical trade background, or a recent graduate from a science background – Environmental / Physical Geography / Geology. The successful applicant will report to our site supervisors across a range of projects.
Your Responsibilities
* Providing input into health, safety, environmental and quality documentation
* Preparing instruments, materials and tools for site work
* Installation of Structural, Ground, and Environmental Monitoring Systems
* Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and asset owners
* Provide installation, monitoring and maintenance services
* Maintain installation records, data processing, create factual reports
* Work as part of a team to plan and meet workload demands.
* Business operations – as part of a growing business you will be involved in all aspects of operations.
* Follow business processes to ensure consistent high-quality results.

* Current Australian manual driver's license
* Visa to work in Australia
* Construction White Card
Desirable/ Advantageous
* Apply First Aid Certification
* Rail Industry Worker Card
Experience

* Knowledge of construction methods and practices
* Good computer literacy – word, excel and outlook
* Good organisational and administrative skills
* Experience using power tools
Desirable/ Advantageous
* Hands on experience with geotechnical instrumentation
* Experience of borehole drilling techniques and methods
* Knowledge of geotechnical testing practices
