Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position

Responsibilities
* Mow lawns and cut edges with hand and ride-on mowers (front deck & Z-track) and whipper snipper.
* Prepare and plant garden beds and perform landscape maintenance.
* Plant trees, bushes, hedges, flowers and bulbs; remove litter from garden beds and driveways.
* Prune/trim shrubs and plants; remove dead branches and leaves.
* Check the irrigation system and report faults or inadequate/excessive watering.
* Fertilising, mulching and maintaining plant health with disease prevention.
* Prepare lawn areas by spreading topsoil, planting grass, and laying turf.
* Draft plans and designs, select materials and plants, and coordinate landscape construction (softscape and hardscape).
* Use spraying equipment (backpack/knapsack/motorised) to control weeds, pests and insects.
* Operate high-powered hand tools and perform general maintenance tasks such as raking and shovelling.
* Carry out tasks in a manner that minimizes inconvenience to customers, staff, and the public.
* Operate equipment and machinery per manufacturer recommendations and SNT procedures.
* Perform routine maintenance on gardening tools and equipment; report maintenance and repair needs to the area supervisor.
* Assist in on-the-job training; understand and comply with safety, health and environmental policies; follow written and verbal instructions and procedures.
* Challenge safety-related instructions when they may place people or the environment at risk; take personal responsibility for health and safety.
Essentials
* Certificate III in Horticulture or not less than ten years' practical horticulture experience with the skills to perform work at this level. Proven ability to carry out the tasks in the key responsibilities.
* Class C Driver's Licence (manual).
* Ability to work under limited supervision, either individually or in a team; good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols; a positive National Police Security Check.
Desirable
* First Aid Certificate.
* Chainsaw Operator Certificate.
* Construction Induction (White Card).
* Working with Children (Ochre Card).
