The AMA NT Branch is seeking a proactive Industrial Officer to support doctors across the NT and contribute to industrial advocacy and agreement negotiations. This role plays a key part in strengthening the medical workforce and supporting members with workplace issues.

The NT Branch plays a vital role in supporting local members and improving the NT health system through advocacy, member engagement, and industrial relations representation.
About the Role
Reporting to the NT Branch Executive Officer and the NT Vice President (Industrial), the Industrial Officer will:
* Provide advice to members on employment matters.
* Represent and support members with employment‐related issues.
* Contribute to the formulation and implementation of industrial agreements and policies.
* Promote AMA membership and the value of the organisation.
The role also includes serving as the Executive Officer for ASMOF NT, which involves managing meetings, papers, minutes, and ensuring statutory compliance.
You will also participate in industrial negotiations by coordinating member input, supporting negotiating teams, and liaising with stakeholders throughout the bargaining process.
A key component of the role is providing individual industrial support to members—including triaging inquiries, maintaining IR records, offering practical advice, coordinating meetings, and escalating matters where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend ASMOF and AMA national industrial meetings.
* Support enterprise agreement negotiations from preparation through to member engagement.
* Provide industrial advice and assist individual members with IR matters.
* Stay up to date with relevant legislation and industrial instruments.
* Develop and deliver training on IR and employment topics.
* Monitor systemic industrial issues and brief relevant leaders.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone with:
* Qualifications in IR, Law, HR or equivalent experience.
* Strong knowledge of State and Federal IR systems and employment legislation.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver member‐focused outcomes.

* Tertiary qualifications in IR, Law, HR, or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated ability to provide accurate IR advice and support.
* Strong understanding of State and Federal IR systems and employment legislation.
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver member-focused outcomes.
