Description of position/ skills/ experience required:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a range of heavy mining equipment and machinery.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Liaise with clients and managers to ensure timely completion of all work.
- Maintain detailed records of all work undertaken.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs with the intention of reducing the occurrence of breakdowns.
- Diagnosing and repairing: Identifying and fixing faults in diesel engines, heavy diesel equipment including dozer, graders and other mechanical parts, such as transmissions, steering, suspension, and brakes
- Maintaining and servicing: Performing routine maintenance.
- Disassembling and reassembling: Removing and replacing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components
- Testing and adjusting: Testing and adjusting mechanical parts to ensure they are performing properly
- Inspecting all mine site equipment (mobile equipment and fixed plant)
- Communicating with machinery operators about problems
- Create an efficient workshop by working within a team workplace and to certain deadlines.
- Assist in training apprentices by working closely with them and explaining mechanical procedures
- To be responsible for the proper care and operation of any plant, tools or machinery used within the workplace.
- Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
- Adhere to all necessary policies and procedures of Frontline Equipment.
Skills & Experience:
· Minimum 5 years of experience
· Ability to carry out mechanical tasks with minimal supervision or no supervision.
· Proven ability to meet deadlines and to make independent decisions.
· Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
· Proven ability to work within a team environment.
· Possess a driver’s licence. HR or HC desirable.
· Proven knowledge of automotive air-conditioning.
· Preferred certified Tradesperson, Heavy Vehicle Road Transport Certificate III or qualifications and/ or relevant experience as a diesel motor mechanic.
