Job Title: Station Safety Advisor
Job Description:
The Station Safety Advisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of expeditioners in one of the world's most remote and harsh environments. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing station safety systems, managing risk, and promoting a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement effective safety policies and procedures to mitigate risks and promote a safe working environment.
* Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
* Collaborate with the Station Leader and Assistant Director Safety to develop and implement safety initiatives and projects.
* Provide training and support to expeditioners on health and safety issues, including first aid and emergency response.
* Manage incident reports and conduct investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Diploma in WHS or relevant tertiary qualification.
* Minimum 5 years' experience working in WHS roles within high-risk work environments.
* Current, unrestricted 'C' class (manual) Australian driver's licence.
* Australian citizenship.
* Valid passport with at least 6 months' validity beyond the planned end date of your intended stay in Antarctica or sub-Antarctic regions.
* First aid certification (HLTAID****) valid for at least 18 months beyond the date of commencement.
* Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTAID010) certification valid for at least 18 months beyond the date of commencement.
* CPR (HLTAID009) certification valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of commencement.
