We are working with a large QLD Govt Dept to source a Program Engagement and Communications Officer to join their team until the end of 2026, with extension possible. The main focus of this role is to contribute to the efficient delivery of a large program of work via effective communication, liaison and community engagement to support program managers and project teams across the district, and development of stakeholder communication and correspondence material.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Research and analyse information to prepare high-quality written content for briefing notes and correspondence to ensure a clear, concise and consistent response to key external stakeholders and the broader community.
• Develop community engagement plans for projects, including the development of key messages, targeted engagement and communication strategies and materials.
• Preparation of communication materials, including research and writing media enquiries and releases, ministerial briefings, newsletters, flyers, display materials for the Ministers Office and senior management.
• Respond effectively to media enquiries and prepare draft media releases.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of information, related project data and correspondence in accordance with standards and records management procedures.

• Ability to apply knowledge of government, executive correspondence, and best writing practice to develop, tailor and provide advice on ministerials, briefing notes and executive letters.
• Ability to apply knowledge of issues/reputation management and provides advice to establish and maintain mutual understanding between the department and its stakeholders
